US uni graduate’s warning over LinkedIn job offer scam that cost her $A3500

A recent university graduate has shared an emotional warning to other jobseekers after being scammed out of $A3500 in a fake LinkedIn job offer . Jennifer Chernenko thought she finally found her “big break” in her hunt for a job after graduating from Georgia State University in the US when she was targeted by a scammer. Chernenko said she had applied for hundreds of jobs when she was contacted on LinkedIn by someone claiming to be an employee at Bold Business, one of the companies she applied to work as a social media specialist. OpenAI to offer users up to $20,000 for reporting bugs

OpenAI, the firm behind chatbot sensation ChatGPT, said on Tuesday that it would offer up to $20,000 to users reporting vulnerabilities in its artificial intelligence systems. OpenAI Bug Bounty program, which went live on Tuesday, will offer rewards to people based on the severity of the bugs they report, with rewards starting from $200 per vulnerability. Technology companies often use bug bounty programs to encourage programmers and ethical hackers to report bugs in their software systems. According to details on bug bounty platform Bugcrowd, OpenAI has invited researchers to review certain functionality of ChatGPT and the framework of how OpenAI systems communicate and share data with third-party applications. Retailers offering discounts on high-end iPhones in China

SHANGHAI: Third party retailers in China are offer ing discounts of as much as 10% on Apple Inc's iPhone 14 Pro amid sluggish demand for smartphones. Electronics vendors JD.Com Inc and Suning are currently selling the iPhone 14 Pro basic model for 7,199 yuan ($1,062), checks of JD.com's app and Suning's website showed. That is 800 yuan cheaper than the standard price on Apple's official China website. A number of other authorised Apple third party sellers are offer ing similar discounts on the iPhone 14 pro and Pro Max, Reuters checks of promotions on social media showed. Apple offers hacking targets new options to secure data, chats

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA: Apple Inc plans to allow users to more tightly lock down photos and notes stored on its iCloud service and require a physical security key when logging in from a new device, it said on Wednesday. The forthcoming option s, along with another security measure for Apple's iMessage chat program, are particularly aimed at celebrities, journalists, activists, politicians and other high-profile individuals heavily targeted by hackers, the company said. The iPhone maker said that though it was not aware of breaches to iCloud servers or iMessage exchanges, hacking attempts are increasing. US users will be able to activate the free Advanced Data Protection for iCloud storage by the end of the year.
