NEW YORK/LONDON: FTX was run as a "personal fiefdom" of former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, attorneys for the collapsed crypto exchange said in its first bankruptcy hearing as they detailed ongoing challenges such as hacks and substantial missing assets. In the highest-profile crypto blowup to date, FTX filed for protection in the United States after traders pulled $6 billion from the platform in three days and rival exchange Binance abandoned a rescue deal. The collapse has left an estimated 1 million creditors facing losses totaling billions of dollars. The personal data of thousands of TAFE SA students has been stolen in a data breach. Information relating to more than 2000 students’ identification forms was involved. SA Police discovered USBs containing scanned copies of student identification forms when collecting evidence in an unrelated investigation. The personal information of Service NSW customers has been exposed to other logged-in individuals during a privacy incident, the agency says. An update released to the “My services” dashboard on March 20 resulted in the data breach , Service NSW chief executive officer Greg Wells said in an email to affected customers shared with AAP on Monday. Personal information available through linked services that might have been visible included driver’s licence and vehicle registration details, contact information and children’s names.
