McAfee unveils project Mockingbird to stop AI voice clone scams

McAfee has unveiled a new Project called Mockingbird to combat AI voice clone scamming with a detection tool that will identify AI-generated deepfakes. McAfee has created its own AI-powered Deepfake Audio Detection Technology , dubbed Project Mockingbird, revealed at CES 2024. The innovative detection tool will aim to protect its consumers from AI-generated audio to per Pet rate scams and manipulate public perception. Spotify tests voice translation feature for podcasts

Spotify Technology is testing an AI-powered feature that will translate podcasts from the likes of Dax Shepard and Lex Fridman to other languages, the audio-streaming company said on Monday. The feature marks the latest attempt by the Swedish company to capitalize on generative artificial intelligence, the technology that has taken the world by storm after the rise of ChatGPT, to tap new users and boost revenue. The translated versions, powered by Microsoft-backed OpenAI's newly released voice generation Technology , would mimic the original speaker's style and will be more natural than traditional dubbing, Spotify said. The company had also worked with other podcasters including Monica Padman, Bill Simmons and Steven Bartlett for the feature. Grimes invites AI artists to use her voice for new music

Canadian pop- artist , Grimes, has asked AI artist s to use her voice without copyright consent issues to create new music . “I’ll split 50% royalties on any successful AI-generated song that uses my voice . Same deal as I would with any artist I collab with,” she tweeted. The tweet comes right after streaming platforms removed an AI-generated song that used the voice s of Drake and The Weeknd.
