Twitter bug randomly restores deleted tweets

Twitter users have been reporting the reappearance of some of their deleted tweets on the platform. A security expert told ZDnet that approximately, 34,000 deleted tweets were restored randomly.

While the bug seems to be affecting everyone, it seems most likely to affect those using third-party services like Redact or TweetDelete.

A former Twitter Site Reliability Engineer says, that it “sounds a lot like they moved a bunch of servers between data centers and didn’t properly adjust the topology before reinserting them into the network.”

The site has been plagued with a number of technical issues in the past few months. This has undoubtedly led to a decline in users and a golden opportunity for comPetitors to swoop in and get more users to their platforms.
