Suspected human remains found by workers in Port Lincoln

Bones, which appear to be human, have been unearthed while workers were digging up bitumen on a Port Lincoln street.

South Australia police said SA Water workers found the bones on Edinburgh St about 11am on Thursday.

Police said the remains appeared to be human.

Detectives and forensics police will investigate how long the bones have been there and where they have come from.

“Forensic Response officers and a forensic anthropologist will attend Port Lincoln in coming days to conduct further examination,” police said.
